A brief tally.
For those of you perusing these books, I'm curious to listen about whatever deities you give homage to. I don't often have chance to speak of my faith without risking reprisal.

Re: A brief tally.
I am Saarebas of the Tal-Vashoth.
Before, I was Qunari, and followed the Qun in my own way. I was raised to be Saarebas, my name ultimately unimportant. In the Qun, one's roles decide their place in life. A name is simply something for records for the breeders.
Now that I am Tal-Vashoth, I am not sure what to believe in. The Qun despises what I am, the Chantry is full of hypocrisy and most followers would not know I am not Qunari and would see me flayed, not to mention your Templars would try to place me under their jurisdiction.
I am alone, and I believe that is what suits me. I am a dangerous thing.

A Kossith. How interesting. Your kind are so very immutable in your way of thinking, that one parting from the whole is quite a novelty. Still, you identify yourself by the titles of the Qun, and not your own. Tal-Vashoth. Saarebas. Even as you part ways with the Qunari, you still wear their labels, and consider yourself a danger, when you are alone.
You have much to learn. I would speak more with you.

Re: A brief tally.
As a Dalish I still worship the Creators, the gods of our ancestors in Arlathan.
Elgarn'nan: the vengeful father.
Mythal: goddess of motherhood, our protector.
Falon'Din: Friend to the dead, the guide who teaches us that death is a rest, not a thing to be feared.
Dirthamen: The keeper of secrets, the one who bound Fear and Deceit.
Sylaise: The Hearthkeeper, she who taught us of fire, magic, weaving, and healing.
June: God of craft, he who taught us to bend the branches of trees to make bows, and how to fashion furs, ironbark, and metal.
Ghilan'nain: The mother of the halla, who guides us and teaches us to navigate. Without her we would be bound to one place.
Andruil: The goddess of the hunt, our most beloved, she who taught us Vir Tanadahl the Way of the Three Trees.
Vir Assan: the Way of the Arrow
Be swift and silent;
Strike true, do not waver
And let not our prey suffer.
That is our Way.
Vir Bor'assan: the Way of the Bow
As the sapling bends, so must we.
In yielding, find resilience;
In pliancy, find strength.
That is our Way.
Vir Adahlen: the Way of the Wood
Receive the gifts of the hunt with mindfulness.
Respect the sacrifice of Andruil's children
Know that our passing shall nourish them in turn.
That is our Way.
And lastly Fen'Harel: The dread wolf, lord of tricksters, roamer of the Beyond and the bringer of nightmares. He who has taught us to always be wary of deceit.

This is not a place for a discussion on such things. And Qunlat is the language of my people. It cannot be helped if I must use it to communicate what I am.
I acknowledge I am a dangerous thing. All mages are. It is not a flaw or ignorance; it is a speaking of truth.

I'm going to give you a name for starters! I'm gonna call you Falon!
That means friend I think.

I am Saarebas of the Tal-Vashoth.
The closest to that concept that I have is kadan - and saarebas are not allowed kadan, nor are others allowed to be kadan with us.
You will cease at once.

But is that from the Qun? You don't follow it anymore. So you're Falon!

I am Saarebas of the Tal-Vashoth.
You do not know me. I cannot be kadan with someone I do not know.
The bond of kadan is an important one. It is one who would be basvaraad, or akin to...
Parshaara.

So friend is one step lower than Kadan, and Falon means friend!

You are an odd, odd woman.
Most basra women are. Some of you are even warriors.
It is disconcerting to an extent.

I worship the Maker, and follow the teachings of the Chantry. The Tevinter Chantry, to clarify.
And to Saarebas, everyone is odd in their own way. Man or woman. Human, elf, dwarf or qunari. Or Tal-Vashoth.

The Templar's got it right - Chantry's the best thing that ever happened to me. Better than demon worship or that awfully stupid ancestor praising that we dwarves do.Templar of the Imperium wrote:I worship the Maker, and follow the teachings of the Chantry. The Tevinter Chantry, to clarify.

Re: A brief tally.
I doubt knowing what gods I keep would tell you much about me. Then again, knowing where you place your faith has already convinced me you have at some point been relieved of your senses, so I suppose this is merely blatant hypocrisy on my part.
Such is life.

Ozrammar would be better off as a smoldering crater destroyed by darkspawn or earthquake. Living in that stone prison was a hell far worse than being 'exiled' to the surface.

I am Saarebas of the Tal-Vashoth.
I do not understand the hostility.
Is a dwarf not a dwarf, above the earth or no? You are both bearded, stocky, short, and a good deal of you seem to be irate.
I must admit I am unfamiliar with the culture of bearded men.

I am Saarebas of the Tal-Vashoth.
That brings up a question.
Though I am not an imbiber of alcohol myself, I have a question as to how dwarves produce their own. Wheat cannot grow underground, can it?
I also do not want to assume all dwarves are drunk. They are already basra; there is no need to degrade them further.

And yet you speak my language, and and are clearly choosing your words from both the Qunlat and the Common tongue. You could clearly choose other words to describe yourself, but you do not.
I am beginning to wonder what makes you Tal Vashoth, for you are otherwise insistent on defining yourself by the standards of the Qun. Did you simply tire of having your lips shut, and are otherwise loyal to the Qun?
